Free Summer Music Series kicks off today at Lisa Link Peace Park in the heart of Downtown Madison.

Madison, WI (May 12, 2016)- A free summer music series begins today at Lisa Link Peace Park (452 State Street) in the heart of Downtown Madison. Enjoy live music performed by local area musicians in an All-Ages-All-Community event every Thursday running May 12 through September 29 from 5pm to 7pm.

Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID) invites you to make Thursday nights on State Street at Lisa Link Peace Park your new destination for date night, night out with friends or family night for free music and community fun. Debuting tonight is the first of BID’s free summer events, the Live & Local Summer Music Series featuring local bands and musicians every Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm at Lisa Link Peace Park, located at 452 State Street, adjacent to the Downtown Madison Visitors Center. This week, local band Lost Highway All Stars will be playing their unique indie blend of blues, classic rock, folk, jazz, and pop.

Throughout the summer other local area musicians including Gentle Brontosaurus, Krause Family Band, Gin Mill Hollow, The Riff’s Poser, Pine Travelers, Sunspot, The Begowatts, Newport Jam with FlowPoetry, Mudroom, and Sweet Delta Dawn will jam out, celebrating the summer and the unique and vibrant vibe of all Downtown Madison has to offer.

Stop by other downtown businesses, many locally owned, to round out a perfect summer evening and to kick start a season full of engaging community activities. ​ The Live & Local Summer Music Series is presented by Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with the City of Madison with support from The Isthmus.
