Powers Memorial Library receives more than $2,000

PALMYRA, Wis. (April 11, 2016)—On April 8, nine

Standard Process Inc. employees presented Powers

Memorial Library Director Angela Zimmermann with

a $2,320 check. The donation will allow the library to

purchase 99 new books and other items. It was made

possible through the company’s charitable motivation

program, which encourages Standard Process

employees to become more involved on local, national

and global community levels.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for the library and

Standard Process to collaborate and increase awareness

about the resources that are available in our

community,” said Zimmermann. “It’s exciting to see

the employees from Standard Process visiting the

library, and I am definitely looking forward to working

with the company again.”

For every item checked out from the library during the

month of March, Standard Process pledged funds to purchase a new item. Ten Standard Process

employees checked out 14 DVDs, 43 children’s books and 42 adult books. Zimmermann has compiled a

list of new resources to purchase in April.

“What a great incentive to renew my library card,” said Dawn Giese, local Palmyra resident and Standard

Process employee. “It had been a couple of years since I used the library’s resources, and I’m glad that by

doing it now, I helped earn new books for the community.”

Earlier this year, Standard Process donated $500 to Powers Memorial Library for book purchases. This

occurred during the Scholastic Book Fair, held February 29 through March 8, at the Palmyra Elementary

School. Proceeds from the book fair were directed back to the elementary school.

“It’s all about creating win-win situations,” said Standard Process Senior Executive Assistant Angela

Villela.
