Movers for Moms® Essential Care Item Drive April 5 – May 5
Items to benefit women in shelter in Dane and Rock Counties
Madison, Wis. – Each year shortly before Mother’s Day, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® hosts its annual Movers for Moms® donation drive as a way of honoring not just our own moms but all moms. Essential care items like toothpaste, cleaning supplies and toiletries are collected and donated to moms who are in shelter at Mother’s Day.
In 2015, more than 55 businesses across Dane and Rock County generously acted as donation locations, and collected 15,000 items to benefit moms in shelter. This year’s drive promises to be even bigger.
The 2016 drive will run from April 5 through May 5, with collection of donated goods the Thursday before Mother’s Day. All donations will be delivered to YWCA Madison and YWCA of Rock County.
Starting April 5, donation boxes may be found at more than 80 sites around Dane and Rock County including Restaino & Associates, Lindsay Stone & Briggs, Michael Best and Friedrich, United Way of Dane County, Keller Williams, TDS, Findorff, all Park Bank sites, Forward Janesville, Hausmann-Johnson Insurance, American Family Insurance, Stark Realtors and dozens more. We are seeking donations from the community of toiletries, gift cards, cleaning supplies, shampoo, soap, new socks and underwear, and bedding. An interactive map on http://twomenandatruck.com/

According to information from The National Domestic Abuse Hotline, one in four women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime.
