MCMAHON TO SPEAK AT ST. NORBERT COLLEGE CEO BREAKFAST

DE PERE, WIS.: Peter McMahon, president and CEO of Shopko Stores Operating Company LLC, will present “Shopko: A Turnaround Story,” as part of St. Norbert College’s CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series on Thursday, March 24, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at F. K. Bemis International Center on the St. Norbert College campus. The session sponsor is Catholic Financial Life.

Since joining Shopko in 2013, McMahon lead a restructure that reduced overhead by 15 percent; drove a 20 percent growth in store base – most recently adding 54 stores in 2015; and lead a complete overhaul of the ecommerce business, building an infrastructure to support ship-from-store and other platforms that will increase speed and efficiency. In July of 2015, Shopko launched a new branding strategy under Peter’s leadership with in-store marketing and a media campaign based on “Shopko, the stuff that counts.” McMahon’s efforts to date have improved Shopko’s profitability by 45 percent.

Prior to joining Shopko, Peter served as the chief operating officer of Loblaw, Canada’s largest food retailer and a leading provider of drugstore, general merchandise, and financial products and services. McMahon was responsible for operations, including loss prevention, distribution and ongoing systems implementation at 1,200 stores across Canada.

The CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series is an outreach to the business community by the Office of the President at St. Norbert College, featuring presentations by distinguished local, regional and national business leaders.

The registration fee is $60 for an individual session, or $450 for the entire 8-session series. For more information or to register, contact St. Norbert College at tickets.snc.edu/tickets, email jamie.mcguire@snc.edu or visit snc.edu/ceobreakfast.
