Madison, Wisconsin – In an effort to increase connections between startups,
established corporations and organizations, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and
gener8tor are sponsoring OnRamp Green Bay at Launch Wisconsin. OnRamp gives
young companies the opportunity to pitch their products and services, one-on-one, to
established corporations. This is the sixth OnRamp event since the program’s
inception in 2013. OnRamp occurs three times per year, rotating between Milwaukee,
Green Bay and Madison, Wisconsin.
The event is intended to help startups in the critical effort to find sales channels and
to provide a way for established partners to engage with the entrepreneurial
community. It highlights the region’s commitment to helping emerging entrepreneurs
succeed. OnRamp is free for participating startups and entrepreneurs.
OnRamp Green Bay will be held on October 7, 2015 at Lambeau Field. The event will
take place during Launch Wisconsin, a day-long conference in Green Bay for startups,
innovative corporations, entrepreneurs, and investors looking for exciting new
opportunities and talent.
Startups will be chosen to participate through a competitive application process.
Those selected will have a 20-minute pitch meeting with at least one partner
corporation in accordance with their mutual preferences. Each corporation has agreed
to send a senior executive or manager, and to purchase from, mentor or invest in one
of the startups.
Participating Corporations:
• American Family Insurance
• Assurant
• Bellin Health
• Harley-Davidson
• Jewelers Mutual Insurance
• Kohl’s
• New Resources Companies
• Northwestern Mutual
• Schneider
Startups must apply by the October 4, 2015 deadline by filling out an online
application at http://f6s.com/onrampgreenbay2015/apply.
The most recent OnRamp event was held at Camp Randall Stadium on August 27,
2015. “Participating corporations and entrepreneurs see tremendous value in
OnRamp. gener8tor matches each corporation with startups innovating in their
industry. By participating in OnRamp, these corporations guarantee to invest, mentor
or become a paying customer of at least one of the startups that pitch their company.
Multiple customer relationships, purchases and investments have resulted as a direct
result of OnRamp,” said Sara Woldt, Director of Business Development at gener8tor.
“I love engaging with the best and brightest entrepreneurs from throughout the region
at OnRamp,” said Benjamin DeBoer, Director of Corporate Development at Jewelers
Mutual Insurance Company. “Jewelers Mutual Insurance believes that companies that
don’t deliberately pursue innovation will witness the world evolve right past them.”
