Appleton Housing Authority’s Community Report
Earns National Award Recognition
APPLETON, WI (August 27, 2015) – The Appleton Housing Authority (AHA) has received an Award of Merit from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) for its 2014 Faces of Affordable Housing Annual Report, which highlights the personal stories of families that have been assisted in their journey to finding affordable housing through each one of the AHA’s 14 programs.
The award was recently presented in the Housing and Community Development category to AHA Executive Director Debra Dillenberg and other members of the AHA Leadership Team at NAHRO’s Summer Conference in Austin, Texas.
In creating the standout design of the piece, the AHA partnered with downtown Appleton-based Willems Marketing & Events, which provided design and content services at a reduced, nonprofit rate. Additionally, award-winning Neenah photographer Jeffrey Lendrum of Lendrum Photography, LLC, donated all of his time and expertise to the project, capturing compelling photographs of the featured AHA families. Other local supporters and project funders include: Salon Professional Academy, which donated hair and make-up services; Fox Communities Credit Union; EnvisionInk Printing Solutions; and Neighborhood Housing, Inc., the AHA’s nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization.
“It is quite an honor for our annual report to be recognized in this way amongst a field of many other deserving agencies,” noted Debra Dillenberg AHA executive director. “We are proud of this summary of our programs because it showcases our many community partnerships and the life-changing work we accomplish together throughout the year.”
The AHA report has advanced to additional committee consideration for a National Award of Excellence, NAHRO’s highest honor for publications. The report will also be showcased at NAHRO’s upcoming Fall Conference in Los Angeles, California.
