UW Health: Newsweek ranks 15 UW Carbone Cancer Center physicians as tops in nation

Madison, Wis. – In its recent special cancer issue, Newsweek magazine named 15 physicians associated with the UW Carbone Cancer Center to its “Top Cancer Doctors 2015” list.

UW Carbone doctors on the list include: Dr. Ruth O’ Regan, breast cancer; Dr. Sharon Weber, biliary and gastrointestinal cancer; Dr. Daniel Albert, eye tumors and ophthalmic pathology; Dr. Diane Puccetti, neuro-oncology and cancer survivorship; Dr. Eugene Foley, colon and rectal cancer; Dr. Fred Lee, cancer imaging; Dr. Gary Wood, cutaneous lymphoma, melanoma, skin cancer; Dr. George Wilding, prostate cancer, kidney cancer; Dr. Gregory Hartig, head and neck cancers; Dr. James Cleary, head and neck cancer, palliative care; Dr. Laurel Rice, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer; Dr. Mark Albertini, melanoma and immunotherapy; Dr. Mark Juckett, bone marrow transplant; Dr. Paul Harari, head and neck cancer; and, Dr. Paul Sondel, pediatric cancer, immunotherapy, neuroblastoma.

The lists are whittled down from more than a 100,000 nominations by a physician-led team at Castle Connolly Medical, which also publishes America’s Top Doctors. The UW Carbone Cancer Center had the greatest number of doctors named to the list than any other Wisconsin medical center; it is the only National Cancer Institute comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin.
