MONROE, Wis. (Aug. 6, 2015) — Klondike Cheese Company took home first place for its Greek yogurt and feta cheese along with a slew of additional honors at the American Cheese Society awards July 31 in Rhode Island.

Klondike won first place for its Odyssey® Greek Yogurt in the Labneh, Greek Style Yogurt and Other Strained Cultured Products (All Milks) category. Klondike’s Odyssey Sour Cream won third place in the Crème Fraiche and Sour Cream Products (Cow’s Milk) category.

Klondike’s Odyssey Peppercorn Feta won first place in the Feta With Flavor Added (All Milks) category, and Odyssey Tomato & Basil Feta and Odyssey Mediterranean Feta took second and third place in the same category, respectively. Odyssey Reduced Fat Tomato & Basil Feta won third place in the Reduced Fat Cheese With Flavor Added (All Milks) category.

“These awards are an honor and a testament to the quality of our products,” said Luke Buholzer, vice president of sales at Klondike Cheese Company. “Klondike has always been known for making great feta cheese, and we’re proud to be continually recognized for also producing some of the country’s best yogurt and sour cream.”

The American Cheese Society was founded in 1983 to support the North American artisan and specialty cheese industry. Each year, ACS awards cheeses and dairy products that achieve technical excellence and exhibit the highest aesthetic qualities, according to the organization. Products are recognized for their achievements in flavor, aroma, texture and appearance.

Klondike Cheese Company’s award-winning Odyssey® feta cheese is made using the freshest Wisconsin cow’s milk with state of the art equipment, which yields a feta cheese of superior quality and consistency. After mastering the craft of award-winning Greek style feta cheese, Klondike set out to find an authentic Greek yogurt recipe that was thick, rich and creamy. Klondike’s master cheesemakers set sail to Greece where they learned the skill of making Greek yogurt firsthand. The result is an authentic Greek yogurt that can be enjoyed for breakfast, a healthy snack or cooking in a favorite dish.
