Area nonprofits receive more than $122,000 in grants
Awards from the Alliant Energy Foundation help fund community projects
MADISON, Wis. – May 27, 2015 – Twenty-three area nonprofit organizations are receiving community grants totaling more than $122,000 from the Alliant Energy Foundation in its first of two 2015 giving cycles.
Among those earning grants from the Alliant Energy Foundation are:
· Urban League of Greater Madison, $17,500 for ADVANCE Employment Services
· Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, $20,500 for JA Career & Life Ready
· Aldo Leopold Nature Center, Monona, $5,000 for High-Tech Meets High-Touch programs
· Clean Lakes Alliance, $5,000 for Yahara Pride Farms Innovation Initiatives
· Operation Fresh Start, Inc., Madison, $5,000 for the Transitions program
· The Salvation Army, Madison, $5,000 for its Family Shelter
· YWCA of Madison, $5,000 for the YWeb Career Academy
Also receiving grants are: Wisconsin Literacy, Inc. of Madison, Literacy Network, Inc., Wheels for Winners, Inc. of Madison, Madison Audubon Society, Madison Public Library Foundation, Madison Children’s Museum, Inc., Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation, Inc., River Alliance of Wisconsin, Northside Planning Council, East Madison Community Center, Inc., Domestic Abuse Intervention Services, Inc., Girl Scouts of Wisconsin – Badgerland Council, Inc., Malcolm Shabazz City High School, Independent Living, Inc., Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens, Inc., and the Vera Court Neighborhood Center.
