Milwaukee area students will learn how to file Form 1040 at JA Finance Park®

Milwaukee – April is Financial Literacy Month and is dedicated to spreading awareness about the importance of planning for a stable financial future. Since financial literacy courses are not required in every U.S. school, it’s important for parents, teachers and the community to take part in the education process. Unfortunately, in 2014 only five percent of adults said they were educated about money by teachers, and only 40 percent of adults budgeted and tracked their expenses.

Junior Achievement (JA) of Wisconsin will address this educational void on Wednesday, April 15 (starting at 10 a.m.) by hosting a Tax Day event at the JA Kohl’s Education Center. Milwaukee area students will learn how to fill out an IRS Form 1040 and submit their tax forms to the JA Finance Park IRS. For more information on JA Finance Park or other JA educational programs go to http://Wisconsin.ja.org.

Media members interested in interviews or more information about the Tax Day event and JA should contact Jessica Levine, 414-271-0101, jlevine@boelterlincoln.com, or Laura Gainor, 414-577-3826, lgainor@jawis.org.
