Steele Solutions: Leadership changes to accommodate continued growth

Franklin, Wis. — In moves to support the continued fast-pace growth of Steele Solutions, Inc., Mike Thelen has transitioned from company president to chief executive officer and chairman of the board while Kevin O’Neill has been named president of the Wisconsin company, which designs and manufactures industrial mezzanines, equipment platforms and other steel structures.

“Steele Solutions has grown every year since its founding,” O’Neill noted. “Our new leadership structure will help us plan and support continued annual growth while retaining the product quality and customer care we’re known for. We are now positioned to ensure that our customers and business partners continue to enjoy the ‘Steele Solutions Experience’ when working with us.”

Thelen helped launch the company in 1996 after working several years in the material handling industry. He will remain active in its day-to-day operations and in strategic planning for the corporation.

Terry Young, another of the founding owners of Steele Solutions, will remain as vice president of engineering.

O’Neill, a co-owner, joined Steele Solutions in 1997 as vice president of sales and marketing – a role now held by Garland Bridgewater.

O’Neill is active in industry associations, including the Material Handling Equipment Dealers Association (MHEDA), in MHI (formerly the Material Handling Institute) and the Storage Manufacturers Association (SEMA), and is a nationally recognized expert in mezzanines, equipment platforms and other steel structures.

Steele Solutions now operates out of three facilities in metropolitan Milwaukee and maintains a strong national presence via dealers and systems integrators. It also has offices in Cleveland and Philadelphia. The company’s steel structures have been installed throughout the U.S. and in 11 other countries.

Along with the leadership changes, Steele Solutions is in a strong hiring mode, as noted in the new Careers section of its website.
