Awards to be celebrated in April

Madison – Eighty companies are vying for a coveted Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award. This awards program is co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Safety Council and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

Of the 117 companies who submitted applications, 80 have made it to the final round, having submitted the required subjective information to be considered for the final phase of the award. Each of the finalists provided details on their organization’s safety and health leadership, training and implementation programs, and employee participation. Their reports also include information on their safety accomplishments and goals.

The applications will be judged by an independent panel of 33 safety, health, and human resource professionals. Fourteen grand awards winners will be presented at the 73rd Annual Wisconsin Safety and Health Conference, on April 21 & 22, 2015, at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, Wisconsin Dells.

Other special awards may also be presented based on committee recommendations.

The Wisconsin Safety Council is the state’s leading provider of workplace safety training and programming. Established in 1923, it is an educational division of WMC, the state manufacturers’ association and is the state chapter of the National Safety Council.
