Evansville, WI – The USDA Census of Agriculture Wisconsin estimates Wisconsin has 69,500 farms and 14.5 million acres of farmland.
According to National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS), crop insurance protected $3 billion of liability on crops in Wisconsin in 2013. The deadline to purchase crop insurance for this year’s growing season is March 16, 2015.
Union Bank & Trust Company (UB&T) invites farmers to several important meetings as they plan for 2015.
Crop Insurance Meetings on January 20th and 21st
Our team of Ag experts will update farmers on the Farm Bill, some things to think about for 2015 and tools to help you decide what’s best for your farm business. UB&T crop insurance specialists Jessica Sarbacker and Heather Golz will host the meetings. County FSA representatives and extension agents will also be on hand.
Attendance is free and lunch will be provided. Space is limited, so farmers should call or visit the nearest UB&T office to reserve a spot by January 15.

Farm Estate Planning Meetings on February 4th and 5th
UB&T has partnered with the Wilson Law Group to provide critical information to farmers. UB&T Vice President of Agricultural Lending Amber Keller will host the meetings along with guest speakers from Wilson Law Group. Farmers will learn about a variety of topics that affect the farm from succession planning to estate and capital gains taxes. The UB&T team of trust and agriculture professionals will be on hand to answer questions.
Attendance is free and light refreshments will be provided! But space is limited, so attendees are asked to RSVP no later than January 30.
