Restaurant, Brewery business has expanded significantly over last decade

APPLETON, WI (Jan. 2, 2015) – Stone Cellar Brewpub, an Appleton-based restaurant and brewery specializing in handcrafted beer and fresh, locally-sourced menu ingredients, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in business with a weeklong celebration of food, beer and its proud connection to the Appleton community.

The weeklong festivities set for Sunday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Jan. 17, will highlight the introduction of some newly formulated beers and special tastings, along with the launch of the restaurant’s brand new lunch and dinner menus.

Father-and-son partners Tom and Steve Lonsway are looking forward to welcoming the public to their thriving business enterprise, located in the historic Between-the Locks building on Appleton’s south side, with a special five-year lateral tasting of Stone Cellar’s Inaugural Brew Grand Cru and the new release of the pub’s brand new Imperial Pilsner, along with a perfectly aged Barley Wine. Several limited brews, of which many are barrel-aged, will also be tapped and served throughout the celebration week, as well as the pub’s seven year-round beer selections.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 14 and continuing through Saturday, Jan. 17, guided brewery tours will be offered at 6 p.m. nightly. Tours are $5 per person and will include fresh beer samples and beer facts and tips shared by a Stone Cellar Brewer.

In addition to their successful Stone Cellar Brewpub operations, the Lonsways also produce a line of specially handcrafted beers under their Stone Arch label, which are distributed in 20 Wisconsin counties for consumer purchase in liquor and grocery stores.

Most recently, the father-son-duo expanded their business reach into the banquet market, partnering with Riverview Gardens in September of 2013, in the creation of its Stone Cellar at Riverview Gardens full-service banquet facilities located at 1004 S. Olde Oneida St., on Appleton’s south side, one block west of the brewpub.

“When my father and I set out on this venture 10-years ago, we never anticipated how much the community would embrace us,” said Steve Lonsway, co-owner and brew master at Stone Cellar Brewpub. “We feel so very fortunate and cannot be more proud to have our business located in the Fox Cities. We will continue to support area non-profit organizations by contributing gift certificates to their many community events each year.”
