MILWAUKEE (Nov. 26, 2014) — Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is proud to announce the addition of nine new attorney associates to the firm’s Corporate, Environment & Energy Strategies, Investment Management, Litigation and Tax & Employee Benefits Practice Groups.

Daniel L. Barnes has joined the firm’s Tax & Employee Benefits Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. Barnes earned his J.D., with high distinction, from the University of Iowa. While attending law school, he interned for the Iowa Department of Revenue’s Policy and Communications Division. Barnes received his undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University.

Benjamin J. Clarke has joined the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. He received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, cum laude, where he served as an articles editor for the Wisconsin Law Review and competed on the Ruby Vale Corporate Law Moot Court team. Clarke earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Matthew S. Covey has joined Godfrey & Kahn’s Corporate Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. Covey earned his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law and received his bachelor’s degree from Bradley University in Illinois.

Emily Ertel has joined the firm’s Environment & Energy Strategies Practice Group in the Madison office. She received her J.D. from Drake University Law School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. Most recently, Ertel was the 2013 Honors Fellow in the Office of General Counsel at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. She also held an internship with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel during law school.

Christopher K. Flowers has joined Godfrey & Kahn’s Litigation Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. He obtained his J.D. from Marquette University Law School and graduated from the University of Albany in New York with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Rhetoric and a Master of Arts in Political Communication. While attending law school, Flowers was an intern at the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel, where he appeared before the Honorable Elizabeth Crewson Paris, United States Tax Court.

Charles (Andy) A. Gordon has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Marquette University Law School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. While in law school, Gordon worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable William M. Conley, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. He also served as a research assistant for Marquette Law School Dean and Professor of Law Joseph D. Kearney.

Mark W. Hancock has joined Godfrey & Kahn’s Litigation Practice Group in the Madison office. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, earned his Master of Arts from the University of Chicago and obtained his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from The Colorado College. Prior to joining the firm, Hancock clerked for the Honorable Barry G. Silverman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable Philip P. Simon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.

David R. Konkel has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Seattle University Law School and earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from The George Washington University. Most recently, he was a Law Clerk for Judge William C. Griesbach in Green Bay, Wis. Prior to starting his legal career, Konkel was a Human Intelligence Collector in the United States Army and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Joint Service Commendation Medal and two Army Commendation Medals.

Jacqueline R. Roush has joined Godfrey & Kahn’s Investment Management and Corporate Practice Groups in the Milwaukee office. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
