UW Health Veterans Career Event set for Thursday, November 13

MADISON- The brave men and women who have served our country deserve support in making their transition home.

For the second year in a row, UW Health will host a veterans’ career event on Thursday at the UW Medical Foundation, 7974 UW Health Court in Middleton.

This is a chance for veterans and their families to network, receive career assistance, participate in mock interviews and learn about the opportunities at UW Health. Attendees are able to apply for jobs at the end of the event.

Mikel Kind served in the US Army Reserves from 2006 until 2014 and was deployed to Kuwait from 2009 to 2010. He’s worked in the environmental services department at UW Hospital for nearly three years. He will speak on the panel.

“This is the most positive environment I have ever worked in. I love being a part of this organization. I have always had a lot of pride in the military and I believe military members have necessary skill sets to succeed and UW Health realizes that,” said Kind. “There are a lot of career opportunities here and this career event is unique because it targets and helps veterans during their service and post-civilian life.”

Walk-ins are welcomed as there is no pre- registration required. Attendees are encouraged to participate at any time and take advantage of all sessions.

9a.m.–10a.m. : Veteran panel discussion, Room 114
