(Oconomowoc, Wis.) Rogers Behavioral Health System is proud to announce that the American Psychological Association (APA) recently accredited the Rogers Center for Research and Training (RCRT) – which manages the system’s internships, training and trials – as an accredited training site for psychologists. The decision to approve accreditation came after a report was submitted by Jody A. Pahlavan, PsyD, and her colleagues.
“I am very proud of the psychology team and this accomplishment,” Dr. Pahlavan, clinical director of child and adolescent partial hospital services, said. “We have worked very hard to provide a quality training program. Taking this opportunity to work together on a self-study to secure our accreditation is one of the highlights of my career. It’s fulfilling to provide quality training and assure ongoing growth in the industry.”
Accreditation was awarded as the result of a vote by the APA Commission on Accreditation, which evaluated the RCRT application and self-study, followed by a site visit and acceptance by the board. The self-study included evaluation of:
Training goals, objectives and practices;
Intern, faculty and financial resources;
Program policies and procedures;
Competencies interns are expected to obtain; and
Actual outcome data that demonstrates the achievement of these competencies.
After initial review of the self-study, a team was sent to visit Rogers to validate the report’s accuracy and submit a detailed report. On the basis of the team’s review, the Commission scheduled the next accreditation site visit for 2021.
“Our seven-year accreditation reflects positively on Rogers and indicates the organization’s quality,” Dr. Pahlavan said. “The prestige associated with accreditation often leads to future grant opportunities and an increased ability to attract high-quality staff. In addition, accreditation assists Rogers in fulfilling its mission of service, research, education and training.”
