WOODVILLE, WI—OEM Fabricators, Inc. hosted U.S. Senator Ron Johnson at its Woodville facility on Monday, October 13. The senator addressed OEM Team Members as part of his Wisconsin Manufacturing Month tour with a “State of the Nation” presentation focused on fiscal challenges facing the nation.

Senator Johnson challenged his audience to build awareness about the growth of the federal government, accountability for its effectiveness, and financial impacts on taxpayers. He shared statistics on the rising level of federal spending, the growing federal deficit, and the increasing government debt per capita. He responded to questions from the audience on spending limits, abuse of government programs, and how to keep the United States competitive on a global basis.

Before his presentation to Team Members on the production floor, OEM President and founder S. Mark Tyler invited Senator Johnson to participate in a discussion with OEM’s management team on issues related to the firm and the general business climate. Tyler shared concerns related to federal policy on taxes and regulations that he said impede private sector business investment and job creation. Tyler said that his privately-held organization and the 425 OEM Team Members pay a combined total of $12 million in federal taxes—averaging $28,000 per Team Member.
