JANESVILLE, WI – Blackhawk Technical College has scheduled three Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation classes and one First Aid/CPR combination class this fall aimed at meeting the needs of both healthcare and public safety officials, as well as members of the general public interested in attaining CPR certification and first aid skills.

BTC also has set two CPR refresher courses for those already certified in life saving skills. Bi-annual refresher courses are recommended to maintain CPR skills.

All of the courses follow the latest guidelines as established by the American Heart Association.

Medical professionals, those studying to enter a medical field and public safety employees should investigate the Healthcare Provider CPR courses which will be held at the BTC Monroe Campus on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at BTC’s Central Campus. The cost is $43.88, which includes the course textbook.

The course leading to CPR certification for the general public is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Central Campus. This training includes recognition of the early warning signs of heart attack and the proper response to the symptoms. Cost is $44.88, which includes the course textbook.

A CPR certification course, plus training in basic first aid skills, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 13 and Nov. 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Central Campus. The cost is $53.67, which includes the course textbook.

CPR refresher courses for the healthcare professional will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, or Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Central Campus. Cost is $18.59.
