New Attorney Brings Elder and Family Law Expertise to Walny Legal Group

Milwaukee, WI September 8, 2014 – Walny Legal Group, LLC, a boutique law firm with expertise in estate planning, asset protection, and business succession planning, today announced attorney Megann Hendrix has joined the firm. In addition to estate planning, Hendrix brings an expertise in elder and family law.

As part of Hendrix’s law practice, she helps families and individuals with Medicaid (Title XIX) asset planning and eligibility in the pre-planning and crisis planning stages. She also helps her clients with adult guardianship proceedings including petitioning for the guardianship and defending a guardianship action.

Hendrix is a certified collaborative law attorney and experienced family law mediator. In 2013, she won the “Dolphin Award” and “Outstanding Performance and Dedication Award” for her dedication to the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin. Because of her expertise in both elder law and family law, Hendrix often serves as a consultant for other attorneys representing clients in divorce actions involving public benefits and other elder law issues.

In addition to traditional estate planning, Hendrix is also knowledgeable in special needs trusts and the unique planning necessary for individuals with special needs.

Hendrix is on the Board of Directors for the State Bar Family Law Section and on the Board of Directors for the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin. She is a member of the Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin and is also a member of the Association of Women Lawyers and the Milwaukee Bar Association.

Hendrix received her J.D. from Marquette University Law School and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with honors, from Saint Louis University.
