Open to the public from 7 to 10 pm

Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) has announced an event to bring artists and the

community together.

CANVAS UNPLUGGED is set for Saturday, August 30. Artists will transform THELMA classrooms

into studio space in which to create art that evening. The public may attend between 7 and 10 pm to

speak with artists, discuss commissioned work, and learn about the creative process.

The event is free. A cash bar will be available.

Local artist Amy Jarvis, of Fond du Lac, and Frank Juarez of Sheboygan, are co-hosts of CANVAS

UNPLUGGED. CANVAS UNPLUGGED is modeled after an event held by the Knaak and Juarez

Studio in July called The Blank Canvas. Frank Juarez is co-owner of the studio.

Participating artists include Peg Haubert, Colleen Chertos, Kathryn Dreifuerst, Linanne Giersch,

Tiffany Gurath, Kay Jelinek, Mindy Leitner, Debra Lee Hellwig, Nancy Donohue, Lora Vahlsing,

Yvonne Sanchez, Sara Risley, Mandy Braun, Patty Aker and John Aker.

THELMA is located at 51 Sheboygan St., in the heart of Downtown Fond du Lac’s Arts and

Entertainment District.

THELMA is a member-based, privately-funded non-profit dedicated to providing experiences not

readily available in the area. Intimate concerts in the Great Hall, street concerts, films, and art from

world-renowned artists are available at THELMA. THELMA also offers a stunning backdrop for

weddings, meetings and all social and corporate gatherings.
