MADISON, WI. National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15) celebrates the contributions made by Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States. Hispanics and Latinos have had a profound and positive influence on our country through their strong commitment to family, faith, hard work, and service. They have enhanced and shaped our national character with centuries-old traditions that reflect the multiethnic and multicultural customs of their community.

La Movida, the first and only 24 hour Spanish language radio station in Madison, working with Centro Hispano, will be airing special programming features about Hispanic heritage, as well as co-hosting a celebration and awards luncheon for community leaders. Wilde East Towne Honda will be supporting the special programming and events through their sponsorship.

“I’m very pleased to be a sponsor of La Movida’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month,” said Jorge Hidalgo, co-owner of Wilde East Towne Honda. “As a Latino-owned business it’s always gratifying to see the recognition of American Hispanic and Latino contributions to the American fabric, and I’m pleased to be in a position to support this effort. I look forward to listening to La Movida’s heritage-themed programming during the month-long celebration.”

Mr. Hidalgo has been co-owner of Wilde East Towne Honda since he partnered with the Wilde Automotive Group to launch the automotive dealership in December of 2012. The $11 million dollar facility immediately had an important impact on the local economy, hiring 90 employees.

“My intention from the start was for this dealership to be part of the local community,” said Hidalgo. “In addition to providing jobs, we buy locally as much as possible,” continued Hidalgo, “from office and cleaning supplies to signage and food service, we have an ongoing commitment to support other Madison merchants as much as we can. I see this sponsorship as part of my ongoing commitment to the Madison community.”
