Miller St. Nazianz: New Miller Nitro models unveiled

New for 2015, Miller St. Nazianz, Inc. is pleased to introduce 5 new class-leading models of NITRO Series sprayers.

Tier IV Final Emissions Solution

All five models are next generation 5000 Series NITROs with Tier 4F Cummins engines boasting increased horse power, efficient fuel consumption, and a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SRC) system designed to maximize DEF efficiency and produce near-zero emissions. Two models feature Cummins QSB 6.7 L 275 and 310 hp engines, while the three largest models feature Cummins QSL 8.9 L 310, 345, and 400 horse power.

“For 2015, a major change for the NITRO line is meeting the EPA’s emissions requirements, which the 5 models with Tier 4 Final engine solutions certainly do. However, in addition to the near-zero emissions, we know customers are going to appreciate the fact the engines offer fuel efficiency gains over Tier III, greater horse power, and run quieter, says Tim Criddle, Director of Marketing at Miller. “The NITRO, with the engine in the rear of the machine, already boasts the quietest operator environment in the industry, and with our Tier 4 final solution and larger, slower fan, it’s actually difficult to know if the engine is running when you’re sitting in the cab. That’s something customers have already told us they are excited about.”

Enhanced Operator Convenience

Refinements for 2015 don’t stop with the new engines. Improved operator convenience was of paramount concern to Miller, resulting in a number of enhancements. The SprayView “Comfort Zone” air-ride cab, with unrestricted visibility and options including an air-ride climate controlled seat, now includes a new, larger, touch-screen Miller Systems Monitor designed to make watching and controlling a wide range of machine functions easier than ever. The armrest has been re-designed to give operators more room and enhanced comfort. Customers who choose the upgraded Premium SprayView cab will also enjoy the brand new standard equipment X-Grip smartphone holder and Rear View Camera, designed to enhance visibility when backing up and even monitoring oncoming traffic from the rear, particularly beneficial for road transport.

Flexible ISO BUS Wiring Technology

In recognizing a customer’s investment in and familiarity with operating a chosen Precision Platform, Miller designed the 5000 Series NITRO with ISO wiring, enabling customers to install their chosen field computer. Wiring harnesses are available to run precision products from Raven, Trimble, Ag-Leader, CNH, and Deere, providing ISO controls over such functions as spray controls, section control, boom height control, and assisted steering. New for 2015, when a NITRO is equipped with a Deere VT, a steering solution is available from Reichhardt to complete the precision package.

Improved Engine Access

A brand new engine enclosure has been developed to provide unparalleled access. A new rear access panel, new right side hydro cover, new top engine cover, and new lightweight poly bomb-bay style bottom engine doors means accessing the engine for service and repairs is more convenient than ever. Optional under-belly pans have been redesigned to match the lightweight poly engine pans, protecting both the crop and bottom of the machine in tall crop applications.

Many Additional Enhancements for 2015

The NITRO 5000 Series for 2015 is also available with a number of other performance enhancing options and features. The Premium Lighting Package now includes convenient ingress/egress LED lgiths installed at the foot of the ladder, base of the freshwater tank, and base of the fuel tank for convenient nighttime operation. The new High Capacity product pump kit has been upgraded to the Hypro 9307CWS with ForceField Seal Technology that eliminates run-dry and in-season downtime. New, higher performance IF and VF tires are available, new, narrower profile rims, safer, taller rear hand rails, improved in-cab climate control, and enhanced electrical system are all designed to increase performance and operator comfort and convenience.
