CEC Develops IT Focus to Help Customers with Convergence

With technology’s shift toward IT convergence, CEC is ready to help clients make the most of their networks

Hiawatha, IA (July 21, 2014) – CEC, a nationally recognized systems and technology integrator based in Hiawatha, IA, is investing in its IT staff and resources to help customers across the country move forward with IT convergence.

With more and more low-voltage systems being designed to run on IT networks, CEC has increased and restructured its IT team to help clients effectively manage this change and prepare their IT infrastructure.

To drive this transition, CEC has added new key IT positions:

· Brian Bayeur, director of IT, joined CEC in April to lead internal and external IT initiatives. Bayeur was previously manager of technical services at OneNeck (formerly Vital Support Systems).

· Brian Wells, former owner at Networking Services Inc (NSI), was named CEC’s IT operations lead, providing management and oversight for all IT projects and services.

· Shannon Bowen joined CEC’s team in June as IT engineering manager, directing all engineering functions. Bowen previously held IT roles at McGladrey, CEC, and Kirkwood Community College before returning to CEC.

· Kevin Coe is CEC’s new senior infrastructure engineer, managing all internal IT systems. Coe has an extensive background in IT, most recently as a technical consultant with IP Pathways.

When combined with the existing and talented staff of IT engineers, CEC now offers an even higher level of knowledge and experience in wireless, VoIP, virtualization, unified communications, storage and back-up, networking, information security, and third-party IT services and staffing.

“Whether leveraging existing IT infrastructure or creating a network infrastructure built for future needs, CEC’s IT team uses its more than 150 years of combined experience in the field to make true convergence a reality for customers,” says Brian Bayeur, CEC’s director of IT.

CEC’s expanded IT team and solutions will help customers in Iowa, Wisconsin, and across the United States establish convergence priorities, meet goals, lower costs, increase productivity, and solve business challenges.
