MorganMyers Co-founder, Gary Myers, Inducted Into the Agricultural Public Relations Hall of Fame

Waukesha, Wis. (June 27, 2014) – MorganMyers is pleased to announce the induction of firm co-founder Gary Myers into the Agricultural Public Relations Hall of Fame. Myers was recognized June 26 at the annual meeting of the Agricultural Relations Council (ARC) in Madison, Wisconsin.

In 1982, Myers, along with business partner Gaylin Morgan, founded MorganMyers, a strategic communications firm that builds, protects and promotes great brands that help feed the world. Myers had a vision to take the firm beyond its agribusiness roots and establish it as a new-generation communications agency serving companies at every point of the food chain.

“Anyone working with Gary knew that he set the bar high,” says Tim Oliver, current MorganMyers president. “His catchphrase ‘press ahead’ served two purposes: to motivate the team to make progress on the task at hand and to view the task in a larger context, always looking for ways to make the outcome better.”

Myers served as MorganMyers’ president for 23 years until his retirement in 2005. Myers now heads his own consulting group, GaryMyers + Associates, and serves as an adjunct professor at West Virginia University. Before co-founding MorganMyers, he worked at Bader Rutter, an integrated marketing services agency located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in agricultural journalism.

Myers has greatly contributed to ARC through the years. He served as president from 1989 to 1990, is a past winner of the ARC Founders Award and led a coalition of several public relations organizations in unifying public relations accreditation under one credential.

The Agricultural Public Relations Hall of Fame was created by the ARC to recognize those professionals who provide exemplary public relations services to the agricultural industry. Myers is part of the third class of inductees since the program started in 2012.
