MILWAUKEE (June 23, 2014) – Edward J. Kenrick, Michal A. Gawlik, Turner R. Swanson, Brent E. Aussprung and Colin P. Dunn have joined the Milwaukee office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP as members of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Edward J. Kenrick, Intellectual Property Docketing and Administrative Manager

Prior Experience
Prior to joining Michael Best, Kenrick was an Intellectual Property Paralegal at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. and Snell & Wilmer LLP in Phoenix managing intellectual property portfolios for Fortune 500, large, mid-size and small companies.

Education
Kenrick received his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with an emphasis in Philosophy of Law from the University of Massachusetts- Boston and his Paralegal Certificate from Boston University.

Michal A. Gawlik, Patent Engineer

Prior Experience
Before joining Michael Best, Gawlik had three Co-Op terms at Caterpillar Global Mining and was an Engineering Intern for Exelon at a nuclear power plant.

Education
Gawlik received his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University.

Turner R. Swanson, Patent Engineer

Prior Experience
Before joining Michael Best, Swanson completed internships at Manitowoc Crane and Federal-Mogul Powertrain Systems.

Education
Swanson received his Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and is a member of the Wisconsin Association of Energy Engineers.

Brent E. Aussprung, Patent Engineer

Prior Experience
Prior to joining Michael Best, Aussprung completed internships at UW-Milwaukee Research Foundation and Braun Intertec. Aussprung also gained his American Concrete Institute certification, Minnesota Department of Transportation certification and nuclear gauge training.

Education
Aussprung received his Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Colin P. Dunn, Patent Engineer

Prior Experience
Dunn developed several biomedical designs prior to joining Michael Best; including a teaching aid for medical school, a rehabilitation sling, and a forearm fracture model to assist physicians in learning proper fracture reduction and casting techniques.

Education
Dunn received his Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
