MADISON, Wisc. – Merchant & Gould, a leading intellectual property law firm, announced today that attorney Stephen R. Howe has joined its Madison office.

Howe is a member of the firm’s Global Generics team, which works with pharmaceutical industry clients to bring generic drugs to market. Previous to Merchant & Gould, he had been an associate with Latham & Watkins L.L.P. in Chicago since 2009, where his practice focused on litigating patent disputes involving pharmaceutical products under the Hatch-Waxman Act from pleadings through to trial.

Howe graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2009. Additionally, he was awarded a bachelor’s degree in biology from Kalamazoo College, also with honors. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2009 and the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2010.
