Foundation honors Delafield attorney Nancy Bonniwell

Milwaukee, WI – June 13, 2014 – The Greater Milwaukee Foundation honored Nancy Bonniwell, partner at Weiss Berzowski Brady LLP, with its third annual Outstanding Professional Adviser Award.

The award recognizes the contribution professional advisers make in building relationships with the Foundation and helping their clients create charitable funds for the benefit of the community.

Bonniwell, managing partner of Weiss Berzowski Brady’s Delafield office and an attorney with the firm for 20 years, concentrates on estate planning and business law. She is past president of the Waukesha County Estate Planning Council and serves on its board. She also serves on the board of the Oconomowoc Hospital Foundation, is an advisory board member for the Waukesha County Community Foundation as well as participates in Lake County Charity Connection, TEMPO Waukesha and Professional Dimensions.

“Nancy is an incredible asset and advocate for the Foundation and for charitable giving in the community,” said Tim Larson, the Foundation’s vice president of Philanthropic Services. “She does a fantastic job of helping clients understand the power of leaving such a charitable legacy.”

Bonniwell was recognized in May at the Foundation’s Herbert J. Mueller Society’s annual luncheon. The recognition society, of which she is a founding member, recognizes the efforts of professional advisers who are committed to their clients, philanthropy and the community. The society is named in memory of Herbert Mueller, a local estate planning attorney who, through his quiet efforts, helped shape the Foundation into the strong, stable and successful organization it is today. By the time of his death in 2001 at age 91, Mueller had worked with his clients to start more than a dozen Foundation funds with gifts totaling nearly $50 million.
