MILFORD, Conn., (May 27, 2014) – Neopost, the number two worldwide supplier of mail solutions and a major player in the fields of communication and logistics solutions, has acquired Systems and Programming Solutions, Inc. (SPSI), in Brookfield, WI, and Best Way Technologies LLC (BWT) in Chicago, providers of high-volume multi-carrier parcel shipping solutions for businesses of all sizes in every industry. Both companies were acquired from the same owner.

SPSI is an IT services provider specializing in integration services and sales and support for IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, SPS Commerce and dozens of other popular software applications and hardware systems. The company’s Distribution Systems organization sells, services and supports several popular supply chain and logistics systems including the ProShip® TMS tier-one, enterprise-class, multi-carrier shipping software suite. ProShip is capable of shipping millions of packages per day through its software and integration application. BWT developed ProShip which integrates with all major ERP applications including SAP, Oracle and Microsoft.

The two companies will be amalgamated into ProShip, Inc., a new entity. Approximately 60 SPSI and BWT employees – mostly software engineers focused on delivering world-class software and integrations – working in Brookfield and Chicago will become ProShip, Inc. employees, Neopost’s newest integrated operation in the United States.

SPSI ranks in the top five volume shipping software providers in the US. It sells, services and supports several supply chain and logistics systems including ProShip TMS software. ProShip is the fastest performing software product on the market today, capable of shipping millions of packages per day. SPSI’s customers are large retailers, e-retailers, healthcare providers and 3PLs (third-party logistics providers). SPSI’s average customer volume is 50,000 packages per day; several customers ship more than one million a day.

SPSI enjoys strong relationships with the largest parcel carriers. It is certified by FedEx, UPS, DHL and USPS, among others. FedEx recognized SPSI as its Partner of the Year in 2011. FedEx also named SPSI as one of its four Diamond Compatible Solutions. SPSI is UPS’ fastest growing volume shipper.

“Neopost decided to acquire SPSI and BWT for two reasons,” said Mark Aument, Senior Vice President, Neopost ID – Americas1. “First because the companies provide Neopost customers worldwide with an enterprise shipping solution that they can use to move large numbers of parcels every day and also because ProShip fits perfectly into our company’s product portfolio. SPSI and BWT provide a world-class professional services organization that complements Neopost’s traditional hardware and software offerings, in addition to its strength in mailroom shipping through a VAR (value-added reseller) relationship with ProShip. This will allow us to enter the enterprise and warehouse shipping space by leveraging the ProShip sales and service organization.”

Aument noted that the shipping platform the SPSI and BWT acquisitions offer will become one of Neopost’s cornerstones for high-volume shipping in the U.S. as the company perfects its e-commerce initiative.

ProShip, Inc. Vice Presidents Tim Casey and John Berg released a joint statement expressing their enthusiasm for the acquisition: “We are very pleased to join Neopost and very eager to be part of Neopost’s ambition to become a major player in the parcel industry in the U.S. and abroad. We are looking forward to promoting other shipping solutions developed by Neopost while accessing Neopost’s impressive customer base to generate commercial synergies.”

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. SPSI and BWT revenue was $10 million in 2013.
