MADISON, Wis., March 12, 2014 – Make a donation to help end hunger in southwestern Wisconsin during the Hunger’s Hope Radiothon for Second Harvest Foodbank on Thursday, March 13. For every $1 donated, Second Harvest Foodbank can provide 3 meals. The first 60,000 meals ($20,000) raised will be doubled by Genesis Painting and a generous individual donor to help us reach our 120,000 meal goal. To make a donation during the Radiothon, donors can call 866-443-9459 from 6 am – 7 pm on Thursday, March 13.

This is the inaugural Hunger’s Hope Radiothon. When asked why Second Harvest started the campaign, president and CEO, Dan Stein said, “Hunger has no time of year. For those who struggle to put food on their table, it is a year-round worry. We are constantly looking for new ways to meet the increased demand, and we feel strongly that this event will allow us to help more people.”
