Dept. of Commerce: Gov. Doyle Announces Funding For ACCU Tech Plastics, Inc. in Eau Claire

MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle announced today that Accu Tech Plastics, Inc.,
of Eau Claire, in the I-94 Corridor Technology Zone, will receive $150,000
in Technology Zone tax credits.

“My Grow Wisconsin initiative calls for investments in Wisconsin’s important
manufacturing industry,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased that Accu Tech
Plastics is constructing a new facility and creating good manufacturing jobs
for Eau Claire County.”

Accu Tech Plastics, Inc. produces plastic film and foil extrusions for the
computer, medical and window industries. The company will invest $2.4
million to construct and equip a new facility in Eau Claire. This project
will create nine jobs and retain nine jobs.

“Accu Tech Plastics, Inc. serves companies in the United States, but exports
over 70 percent of its products,” said Brian Doudna, Executive Director of
the Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation. “This project gives
the business the ability to purchase and build custom equipment to increase
its competitive edge in the growing international markets of China, Mexico
and the greater Pacific Rim.”

The I-94 Corridor Technology Zone provides incentives for high-tech growth
in Biotechnology, Information Technology, and Automatic and Precision
Fabrication, among others. The I-94 Technology Zone includes the counties of
Dunn, Chippewa, Eau Claire, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix. For more
