Milwaukee, Wisconsin (August 2, 2012) — Due to the high demand for sales and use tax information pertinent to manufacturing companies, Wipfli LLP (“Wipfli”) is offering a unique webinar series focused on sales and use taxes for Wisconsin manufacturers. Wipfli’s Sales and Use Tax for Wisconsin Manufacturers Web Forum is a four-part web series providing industry-specific sales and use tax information and education. It is specifically designed for controllers, accounts payable and accounting staff or others involved in sales and use taxes at Wisconsin manufacturing companies.

“As a manufacturer, it is easy to get lost in the ever-changing sales and use tax laws and often times it’s difficult to determine applicability to individual situations,” said Craig Cookle, Wipfli sales and use tax partner. “Recognizing the need for in-depth, industry-specific information surrounding sales and use taxes, we are pleased to provide education and insights to help Wisconsin manufacturers.”

The four-part web forum includes the following sessions:

* August 14, 2012 − 9 am to 10:30 am (CST) – Defining the Manufacturing Process

* September 11, 2012 – 9 am to 10:30 am (CST) – Defining Equipment Exemptions

* October 9, 2012 – 9 am to 10:30 am (CST) – Consumables: What Qualifies for Exemption?

* November 13, 2012 – 9 am to 10:30 am (CST) – Utilities and Use of Estimates

Each session provides in-depth information related to a specific topic and uses real examples from the manufacturing industry. The price to attend all four sessions is $299. The price to attend an individual session is $99 each.

The Sales and Use Tax for Wisconsin Manufacturers Web Forum was developed by Wipfli’s State and Local Tax Group, whose eight members have over 120 years of combined experience and extensive knowledge of sales and use taxes. In addition, four members have been auditors/supervisors for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for a combined total of 63 years.
