Milwaukee, WI – Kelly M. Fortier, Partner, at the law firm of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is being honored as a 2012 Women in the Law award recipient by the Wisconsin Law Journal. Nominees are recognized for their achievement of excellence in their fields, being an influential example to other women in the law, commitment to opening new opportunities to women attorneys and service to their profession and community.

Fortier is a member of the Employment Relations Practice Group, where her practice includes representation of management in all aspects of employment law, with primary focus on employment-based immigration, including nonimmigrant petitions, permanent residence cases, naturalization applications, and employment verification issues. Fortier provides Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance advice and training as well as social security mismatch notice guidance. Her experience additionally includes handling immigration enforcement investigations and audits, employment discrimination complaints, employee non-compete agreements, and employee privacy issues. Fortier has previously been recognized as a “Rising Star” in the area of immigration law by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Award winners will be honored at the 2012 Women in the Law Awards the evening of Thursday, June 21 at The Pfister Hotel.
