APPLETON, Wis. – Touchmark won the Gold Award for its new The {Full} Life™ brochure at the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) annual conference in Orlando, Florida, last week. Touchmark on West Prospect is part of the Touchmark family of retirement communities.

Touchmark’s brochure highlights seven individuals’ stories, which convey sentiments such as joyful, flavorful, mindful and thankful.

ICAA launched a Changing the Way We Age® Campaign as part of its efforts to change perceptions of aging and overturn ageist stereotypes. According to ICAA CEO Colin Milner, this was the first year it presented Rebranding Aging awards that recognize a “positive, realistic view of aging.”

ICAA received about 70 submissions from companies throughout the United States and Canada. Entries were judged by a panel of experts on the 50-plus market. The criteria were: message and imagery resonates with the target audience and/or evokes positive image of aging (30%); call to action is clear and compelling (30%); layout and graphic standards are appealing and appropriate (20%) and overall uniqueness and creativity (20%).

“Our winners show it’s very possible to create compelling marketing pieces without reinforcing stereotypes,” Milner says.

Touchmark previously won one of the ICAA’s 2010 Innovator Awards for its 20in10 … 20 Tips to Wellness You Can Do in 10 MinutesÔ program For more information about Touchmark on West Prospect, visit Touchmark.com or call (920) 832-9100.

Touchmark is located on 40 acres directly across from the Butte des Morts Country Club. The retirement community offers a wide range of homes and lifestyle options.

ICAA is focused on active aging and supports professionals who develop wellness facilities, programs and services for adults over 50.
