Madison Dept. of Public Works: Pre-bid meeting for Central Library construction Is September 27

In anticipation of the completion of the construction documents, the City of Madison will hold a pre-bid advertisement meeting regarding construction of the new Madison Central Public Library on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, 1:00-3:30 pm, at the Central Library, Madison Public Library, Room 202, 201 W. Mifflin St.

At the meeting, city staff will provide orientation to the contracting community on the City of Madison Public Works bidding process, present the library project design, provide a tour of the existing building, and answer contractor questions about the project or the City bidding process.

The Central Library will move to temporary quarters at 126 S. Hamilton St. during the construction of the new Library. Construction is expected to begin in 2012 and the new library at 201 W. Mifflin St. will reopen in 2013.

The Central Library project will be jointly funded by the City of Madison and the Madison Public Library Foundation.
