Standard & Poor’s: Wisconsin is expected to maintain financial discipline, report says

CHICAGO — Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services said today that it expects Wisconsin (AA/A-1+/Stable) to maintain its trend of financial discipline and act purposefully and quickly to address any budget imbalances.

“Our stable outlook reflects our expectation that the state will maintain minimal-but-adequate reserves, bolstered by access to alternate liquidity,” said Standard & Poor’s credit analyst John Kenward in a report, “State Review: Wisconsin”, published today. “We do not expect the rating to change within our outlook’s two-year parameter as we believe the state will continue to successfully address any budgetary imbalances that might occur during the next biennium.”
