Reform was top priority of Be Bold Wisconsin Report

(MADISON) – Competitive Wisconsin today applauded Governor Walker for his effort to reform the Department of Commerce. “Reforming the Department of Commerce was a key recommendation of the Be Bold Wisconsin: The Wisconsin Competitiveness Study released by Competitive Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Economic Development Association and the Wisconsin Counties Association in August, 2010,” said Sue Marks, Competitive Wisconsin President. “This bold step will ensure economic development is a top priority for the Governor and the state of Wisconsin,” said Marks.

“Wisconsin will now have an agency focused exclusively on job creation and the flexibility necessary to build a top-notch professional team to assist the creation, retention, expansion and relocation of business to Wisconsin,” said Bill McCoshen, Competitive Wisconsin Executive Director and former Commerce Secretary. “The new laser focus on jobs will be critical in assisting the Governor meet his goal of helping to create 250,000 jobs over the next four years,” said McCoshen.
