Madison, Wis. – On Tuesday, employees of Miron Construction Co., Inc. purchased and delivered 500 turkeys – totaling nearly 3 tons – to Madison-area community centers and handed them out to families in need.

This is the second straight year Miron has provided turkeys to local families.

“After speaking with some of our employees last year, we decided this would be the most beneficial way to give back to the community during the holiday season,” said Steve Roth, general manager of Miron Construction’s Madison area office. “We’re pleased and honored to once again be able to provide holiday dinners to hundreds of families in need in the Madison area.”

Roughly 25 Miron employees purchased the turkeys from Miller’s Supermarket in Verona, and delivered them to five community centers around the city: Vera Court Community Center, the Allied Drive Boys and Girls Club, Bridge Lake Point Community Center, Lussier Community Center, and the East Madison Community Center. In addition to the turkeys, the Miron employees also offered hot chocolate and candy canes.

After the deliveries were made, the remaining turkeys were dropped off at the Second Harvest Food Bank.

“We’re very thankful to be a part of the Madison community, and we hope this donation – in some small way – demonstrates our gratitude,” Roth said.
