Alliant Energy: Board names Larsen president of Wisconsin Power and Light Company

MADISON, WI – October 29, 2010 – Wisconsin Power and Light Company (WPL), a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE: LNT) announced today that its Board of Directors has elected John O. Larsen to serve as President of WPL as of December 1, 2010.

In this role, Larsen will be replacing Barbara J. Swan, current President of WPL, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer. Swan is retiring later this year.

“John’s vast operational experience in engineering, generation and power distribution combined with his interest and aptitude for external relations is a combination that will serve our customers and our company well,” said William D. Harvey, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alliant Energy Corporation. “I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Barbara, who has done a tremendous job in this role for the last six years.”

In addition to his role as President of WPL, Larsen will continue to serve as Senior Vice President – Generation for Alliant Energy. He also remains on the Board of the University of Wisconsin – Platteville School of Engineering and chairs the Junior Achievement of Wisconsin – Dane Board. He will remain located in Madison, Wisconsin.
