Beloit, WI – The Stateline World Trade Association (SLWTA) welcomes Ms. Jennifer Wood, CPA and corporate tax specialist to its October 28 dinner program. Ms. Wood will share with the SLWTA group tax saving opportunities on international import and export transactions. She will also present information on potential upcoming tax law changes including health care reform and its impact on businesses and individuals.

Ms. Wood is a CPA with the national accounting firm, Sikich LLC. She is located in their Rockford office. During her career, Jennifer has often led tax compliance and consulting engagements which resulted in significant permanent savings for clients. Jennifer serves a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, construction, real estate and service businesses. In addition to her practice in public accounting, Jennifer has served as a resource to legislators on pending tax legislation and is a frequent speaker for various organizations.

The SLWTA’s mission is to promote both an understanding and an appreciation of the international marketplace. The Thursday October 28 dinner meeting will be held at The Beloit Inn, 500 Pleasant Street, Beloit WI. It will begin with networking and cash bar at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:15 p.m., with Ms. Wood’s presentation immediately following dinner. Cost is $25 for members, $35 for non-members and $15 for students with ID. Menu is slow roasted beef served over mashed potatoes topped with a caramelized onion bordelaise and seasonal julienne vegetables. Served with warm bread, basil butter oil, mixed green salad, french dressing, and a beverage. Desert is homemade banana bread pudding. Dietary restrictions should be noted when registering and substitutions can be ordered. Registration must be received by Tuesday, October 28. No-shows or cancellations on the day of the program will be charged the full fee.
