National Federation of Independent Business/Wisconsin: Honors Rep. Brett Davis with Guardian of Small Business Award

Small-business group recognizes lawmaker for defense of free enterprise

Madison – The National Federation of Independent Business/Wisconsin today presented State Representative Brett Davis (R/AD-80-Oregon) with the prestigious Guardian of Small Business Award in recognition of his work to defend free enterprise and grow Wisconsin’s small business economy.

“Representative Davis has been one of the most reliable defenders of small business in the Legislature, and we are very proud to present him with our highest award,” said NFIB state director Bill G. Smith.

Davis accomplished 100 percent on NFIB’s Voting Record, which tracks the votes of every lawmaker on the issues most important to Wisconsin small businesses. The organization identified nine bills during the past legislative session that had significant implications for its members. Davis voted in every case with the state’s small business operators.

“They were not easy votes, and we would like our members and the general public to know that there are some very courageous members of the Wisconsin Legislature. Representative Davis is one of them and we are grateful for his support,” said Smith.

The Guardian of Small Business Award is NFIB’s highest honor, reserved for lawmakers who demonstrate uncommon leadership and consistency in supporting the small business agenda.
