UW-Milwaukee: National speakers discuss the deficit Oct. 12

The Concord Coalition and the Wisconsin Fiscal Advisory Council invite you to attend the second of three forums discussing the challenges associated with the national debt and how it affects our nation, the State of Wisconsin and its residents.

This second forum in a series of three takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the UWM Union Wisconsin Room, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd. It will focus on what is being done in Washington, D.C., to address the national debt. U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Andy Stern, former president of Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and current Georgetown University research fellow, will join Concord’s Robert Bixby and Luke Repici, executive director and youth advisory chair, respectively, to discuss the opportunities and challenges for elected officials, youth and future generations when tackling long-term federal fiscal challenges.

The conference will be broadcast live via the Internet. A facilitator will take questions from participants across UW System campuses (watching the forum remotely) and deliver them to panelists in Milwaukee. Questions will be answered live via the Web broadcast.
