Kahler Slater was honored for the seventh year in a row in the annual Great Place to Work® Rankings of Small & Medium Workplaces Presented by Entrepreneur®. Kahler Slater is one of only two of the 25 honored small firms to have been recognized every year since the award’s inception. The announcement was made today on Entrepreneur.com . Kahler Slater is ranked #17.

Executive Officer Jill Morin noted that the award is especially rewarding this year as the tough economy continues to be a challenge to organizations of all sizes. “Despite the unknowns of our marketplace this year, we celebrated some new opportunities and look forward to even more as the economy recovers. As always, our creative and talented employees are the reason for our success, past, present and future.” Morin said.

The ranking is compiled each year by Great Place to Work® Institute, based in San Francisco, and represents the best small (25-250 employees) and medium (251-999 employees) workplaces in the America. Rankings are based on an employee opinion survey that evaluates the company in five areas: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. The Institute’s unique Trust Index© methodology measures the level of trust that exists between employees and management, the pride employees express about the company and the camaraderie employees share.

“Trust-based workplace cultures make a better place to work for employees and creates a competitive advantage for the organization,” said Ricardo Lange, CEO of Great Place to Work® Institute. “All of the companies selected for the Great Place to Work® Rankings: 2010 Best Small & Medium Workplaces Presented by Entrepreneur® have cultivated a trust-based work culture and have accomplished a lot of hard work in order to make it onto the list.”

The hundreds of companies across the United States that submitted entries this year also completed a very detailed questionnaire about their programs and company practices.

Kahler Slater’s HR Guy, John Horky offered, “We are very honored to be recognized again this year. We do make it a priority to lead the firm in a manner that fosters as much trust as possible. This means honesty, openness and transparency–-things that people particularly value when times are tough.” Horky will be representing Kahler Slater at an award celebration later this month in Chicago, Illinois.
