(MADISON-September 16, 2010) The Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) – a coalition of 6,500 companies representing the Wisconsin homebuilding industry – endorsed Scott Walker in his campaign for governor today. WBA’s membership includes builders, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, lenders and other businesses throughout the state.

“Scott Walker is exactly the type of person we need for our next governor,” said WBA President Jim (Kuba) Kubasta, owner of Classic Homes by Kuba in Oshkosh. “His plan to bring 250,000 jobs to Wisconsin by 2015 shows the kind of bold leadership our state needs.”

“As a long-time resident of Wauwatosa, I know Scott will get government out of the way to help put Wisconsin’s builders back to work because he has a record of doing just that for eight years in Milwaukee County” said WBA Secretary Craig Rakowski, a builder with James Craig Builders and chairman of Wisconsin Builders for Walker.

“Builders have been especially hard hit by excessive taxes and overregulation of the housing industry championed by Jim Doyle and Tom Barrett. I know it is critical we reverse the damaging policies of the past eight years,” said Walker. “I’m thankful for the endorsement of so many hard working builders –and look forward to working with members of the building community to get our state back to work and back to building again by demanding more accountability before any burdensome changes are placed on the industry by the Department of Commerce and other state bureaucracies.”
