Burger Boat Company: Co-sponsors and attends the 2010 Monaco Rendezvous

Burger Boat Company representatives participated at The Rendezvous in Monaco hosted by Boat International Media in association with SYBAss on June 24-27, 2010. This annual event included owners and guests of 13 superyachts which participated in four days of fun and friendship, enjoying elegant social programs and various on-water activities.

The rendezvous events included greeting cocktails organized at the harbor jetties by the Direction du Tourisme et des Congrès. On Friday June 25 the Bal d’Oceana hosted a gala fundraising dinner to support preservation of the world’s oceans as well as a “Diamonds & White” party Saturday evening June 26. On-water events included a parade between Monaco and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and a Tender Poker Run, organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco and Société des Bains de Mer.

Sunday brunch included an awards presentation by General Secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco, Bernard d’Alessandri and Tony Harris, CEO of Boat International Media. The first awards presented were for the Concours des Chefs, in which the chefs of each participating superyacht had competed for the honor of impressing a panel of renowned chefs who judged the contest. Winning the award was chef, Michael Goller of M/Y Petra, a 44-metre yacht and Craig Stevens, chef of the 62.5m Icon, won a Special Commendation for Outstanding Dessert.

The final award presented was the esteemed “Art de Vivre La Belle Classe Moët & Chandon,” judged by a panel of five experts, representing the Yacht Club de Monaco, Boat International Media and Moët & Chandon. Created in 2005 at the instigation of HSH Prince Albert II, President of the Yacht Club de Monaco, the “La Belle Classe” has established a code of good conduct and etiquette among members of the superyacht industry, with the intention that “Today’s superyachts can survive the test of time to become the classic yachts of tomorrow.”

This award pays tribute to the owners of superyachts way of “Living the Sea” and the judges were asked to consider three criteria for the award:

* The Owner’s approach and philosophy of “living the sea”

* The Owner’s respect for etiquette

* The yachts crew behavior during the week and their quality of greeting

The judges agreed that the winner of the “Art de Vivre La Belle Classe Moët & Chandon” award should be Mr. & Mrs. Howard Meyers, owners of M/Y INGOT, a 153 ft (47m) Motor Yacht launched in 2008 by Burger Boat Company. “It’s wonderful to win such an accolade, and we’re very happy,” said Mr. Meyers after winning the award. Mr. Meyers went on to add, “I’m very proud of the employees of Burger Boat Company who built INGOT and of our crew, an outstanding group of people who display integrity and respect wherever INGOT travels.”

The next Rendezvous in Monaco will be held June 2011.
