The members of Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation will be joining Wisconsin businesses and organizations at this year’s Wisconsin in Washington (WIW) scheduled for June 8 – 10, 2010 in Washington, DC.
This unique annual event brings current and prospective federal contractors from Wisconsin to meet with the technical and political experts who direct and manage the federal procurement process.
According to John Rogers, Chair of WPI and President of Capstone National Partners LLC, “This is a very significant event. It brings together the entire Wisconsin Congressional delegation and is a once a year opportunity to network with members of Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation and their key staff as well as agency representative’s and procurement experts. This is a tremendous way to create and develop relationships in the federal business community.”
Rogers added, “WPI is committed to helping Wisconsin companies bring federal dollars to the state because those dollars have a significant impact on our State’s economy. Last year, contracts valued at over $9 billion dollars were awarded to Wisconsin businesses – just under 2% of the entire federal procurement budget. These dollars resulted in significant job creation and retention.”
This year’s agenda includes briefings from members of Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation as well as from the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DoE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), General Services Administration (GSA), Government Accountability Office (GAO) and a myriad of other agencies, departments and DC based resources.
The Wisconsin in Washington 2010 event is hosted by Wisconsin’s Federal delegation, the Governor of the State of Wisconsin – Jim Doyle, and the Wisconsin Institute Executive Board of Directors – Capstone National Partners, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Oshkosh Corporation, Bank Mutual, Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC, and the Wisconsin Procurement Institute.
