Dept. of Commerce: Doing Business Globally seminar May 13 in Eau Claire

Contact: Tony Hozeny, Department of Commerce, 608/267-9661

MADISON Each May, the directors of Wisconsin’s international trade offices visit the state to brief Wisconsin firms on changing conditions in key markets around the world. The directors will be participating in a seminar at Sleep Inn & Suites Conference Center in Eau Claire 7 on May 13 from 9:30 a.m. until 2:20 p.m. The day will include speakers, panels, networking and the opportunity to speak individually with an International Director from Brazil, Canada, China or Mexico.

“With all the changes taking place in markets around the world,” said Wisconsin Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Aaron Olver, “it is important to get a clear picture of the opportunities available to Wisconsin exporters, as well as the different strategies that can lead to success.”

Whether an experienced exporter or completely new to the process, these sessions can help state businesspersons plan strategies for international success. Aside from hearing first-hand opportunities, participants will discuss differing practices and potential market opportunities, learn about available resources and network with other local companies to share export experiences.

The fee for the seminar is $49 and includes materials and lunch. To register, go to: http://www.uwec.edu/CE/programs/global.htm or call 715/836-5811 or 800/582-5182.

To reserve time to speak with the International Directors please contact Stanley Pfrang, Export Development Manager at 608/267-0639 or go to: stanley.pfrang@wisconsin.gov

The event is sponsored by Commerce along with UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension, Amsoil, Inc., the Small Business Development Center, Momentum West, The Geo Group, Northern Wisconsin International Trade Association and W.S. Darley & Co.
