WHITEWATER Student entrepreneurs with a business idea should consider entering the Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization’s annual Business Plan Competition at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Feb. 17. The submissions should be e-mailed to WarhawkBusinessPlan@hotmail.com.

Due to technical difficulties, the Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization is unable to access the original e-mail account (contest@uwwceo.org) for competition entries. Those who have already submitted a business idea are asked to do so again to WarhawkBusinessPlan@hotmail.com.

All that is required to participate in the competition is a 250-word description of a new product, service or business idea. Submissions will be judged based on a variety of criteria and results will be sent out approximately a week after the entries are submitted.

Groups who submit an idea must have at least one individual who is a student at UW-Whitewater. The competition is intended to aid in the development of new ideas that have resulted from the research and creativity of those working on campus.

Entries that make it past the first round have the potential to go through all stages of the contest and win prize money. Prizes for this year’s contest are $5,000 for first place, $2,500 for second place and $1,500 for third place.

For more information on the event, contact Anthony Gierczak of the Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization at 414-745-1254.
