Ken Heiser, a Hudson, Wisconsin banker, has been named the inaugural recipient of St. Croix EDC’s Directors Award. The award was created by the EDC’s board of directors and is intended to honor an individual or organization that has championed economic development through innovative actions, making St. Croix County a better place to live, work, play, and learn.

Heiser was instrumental in forming St. Croix Economic Development Corporation in the early 1990s. He formed a committee that included people from around the county and county supervisors. After the EDC was formed, he served on the board of directors and was the first board president. He was also active in many civic organizations, including the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce and Hudson Hospital board. Heiser was the president of First National Bank of Hudson, and remained there following its sale to Associated Bank.

More information about Ken and the Directors Award will be shared at the EDC’s Business of the Year banquet. Unfortunately Ken is not available to attend the banquet so the Directors Award will be presented to him at a later date.

Registration information for the February 25th Business of the Year banquet is available on the SCEDC’s website at http://www.stcroixedc.com/pdf/09bizyrinvitation.pdf.
