Incoming President Gene Dalhoff, Baraboo, Promotes Community Issues, Political Advocacy

Madison, WI, January 7, 2010 — The Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives Association (WCCE) elected a new board of directors for 2010. Gene Dalhoff, executive director of the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce, was elected president of the WCCE board.

Dalhoff has twenty years of experience in government, post-secondary education, and non-profit management. He has a solid, broad-based education including a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Anthropology, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as Institute for Organization Management (IOM) certification from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s IOM Program. “I would like to see chambers throughout Wisconsin become more involved in community issues and political advocacy,” said Dalhoff. “I see WCCE as a means to educate its members in how to do this.”

Other WCCE directors elected to officer positions include John Casper, president and chief executive officer, Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, WCCE president-elect; Van Nutt, executive director, Middleton Chamber of Commerce, WCCE vice president; Jim Morgan, vice president, WMC and WCCE secretary – treasurer; Paul Jadin, president of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and immediate past-president of WCCE; and Jim Haney, president, WMC, ex-officio member of the board.

Chamber executives elected to the board were Scott Larson, executive director, Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Dave Minor, president and CEO, The Chamber for Superior and Douglas County; Kevin Ruetten, executive director, Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce; Terri Schulz, president, Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc.; Becky Seelen, program director, Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce; Mary Steinbrecher, director of COSBE, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce; and Carol White, executive director, Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.

Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives (WCCE) is a nonprofit, professional development organization housed within Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC). Founded in 1916, with more than 140 dues-paying members, WCCE trains and supports Wisconsin chamber executives as they promote and enhance the economies of communities around the state.
